Sommelier World Cup Kenya Edition Launch

The tri-annual Sommelier World Cup- Kenya edition launched on the 1st of March at Sierra Burger and WIne restaurant that’s known for having an amazing selection of wines and great burgers and steaks.

This competition is open to individuals working in the wine trade and will draw entries from Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, China, USA, Sweden, Netherlands and the UK. The finals will be ongoing in Cape Town in September and so far there’s 17 Kenyan finalists.

Mr Matome Mbatha who is the Africa Market Manager of Wines of South Africa (WOSA),was in the country to launch the event among other engagements to spread the word about the SomCup19.

The Kenyan competition will be held on Thursday 4 April 2019. Entries are open online on www.wosa.co.za/sommelier. Registration deadline is Friday 29 March 2019

The event was the perfect opportunity to sample select wines from distributors such as East Africa Glass Mart, Browns Cheese, Casks and Barrels, DGB Wines, Jos Hansen, KWAL, Mohans Oysterbay MIA Wines, The Wine Shop Kenya, UTI- East Africa.
