The Macallan Triple Cask Range Review

The Macallan Triple Cask Range Review

The Macallan triple cask range has been described as an extraordinarily smooth and delicate range with a complex character. After the discontinuation of the 1824 series which did away with the age statements, Edrington who are the makers of the luxury brand, launched the series this year. The Triple Cask Matured single malt whiskies are crafted in a triple cask combination of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks.

With Kenya's rising whisky consumption rates it was appropriate for the Edrington team to come by to launch the series as well as educate bartenders and consumers on what makes it unique and exemplary.

During a tasting conducted by the Africa brand ambassador Dada Maseko at The Capital Club we get to experience the delicious aromas and tastes of the 12, 15 and 18 Year old varieties.

The 12 Year old is extraordinarily smooth and delicate character, full of citrus fruits, vanilla and fresh oak, the 15 is is a sublime single malt with vibrant orange and chocolate flavours and lastly the 18 Year old's dominant flavours are rich dark chocolate, dried coconut, and orange, with subtle notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and wood smoke.

All the varieties in the series are undoubtedly delicious, elegant and smooth and would be a perfect treat to different occasions. Something Dada Maseko highlights during the tasting too. At different price points it would be up to you to decide when and where you would sip one. Luckily The Macallan range will be widely available in bars across the country as Kenya's Jeyfine Wines Co were named the exclusive distributors. You can also order the range online through MoBar. Here are some more pictures from the launch.
